Company
GST mbH (Gesellschaft fuer Systembezogene Technologieentwicklung) was founded in 1989 as a spin-off company of the group of Prof. Dr. Gerd Schönhense at the University of Bielefeld, Germany. Along with the move of the group to Johannes-Gutenberg-University in 1991 the company was transferred to Mainz, Germany (registration no. 90 HRB 7342, Amtsgericht Mainz). A central issue of GST’s strategy is its very close relationship with basic research, in particular using Synchrotron- and Free-Electron-Laser radiation at various large-scale research facilities. This work is established in terms of scientific collaborations with a number of University groups.
